Oh. right.
I started a blog two years ago.. and then just kind of forgot about it. hmm.. Well, there have been a few changes since then! For instance, I have a real website now. www.paintdead.com Take a look! I will eventually probably just combine the blog with that..but everything I do takes extra long, so we'll see when that actually happens.
Although nowhere near as productive as I should've been, I've completed a few new paintings, Like the one above. This, easy enough, is "Pie." 16"x20" oil of course.. One of my simplest, turned out to be one of the more popular...who'd have guessed?
Also, I have finally moved my ass off of the rock. I am now in ever-so-exciting Vermilion Ohio (which I'm pretty sure was the model for the town in Pleasantville). I am holed up and starting new (shipping from Hawaii is a bitch to say the least, so I have only a handful of my paintings with me). With no friends and no money this should turn out to be a very productive year!
And lastly! I now have something to look forward to and keep me motivated. www.articulatedgallery.com is an awesome awesome awesome gallery/shop right on Haight st, San Fransisco. It's packed full of gorgeous vintage and vintage-styled taxidermy/jewelry.. it's just, well, the coolest place I have ever seen. I was so enamored with it when I stumbled in I was too shy to even hand them a business card (but luckily I have pushy friends who make me do things that I don't want to do). long story short, if all goes to plan I will be having a show there early next year and probably a few pieces in a Dec. Group show.
Keep you posted!

Not Exactly Interesting
So i know things are a bit slow for me right now what with school, and that this might be one of the most boring blogs on the web(hey, it's new!) so I figured I'd at least post some older work in the meantime between real updates.. And I promise promise promise that after this semester when I'm all graduated and respectable that I'll kick the painting into full gear!
So.. until that all happens, here's something to look at:
This is my most favorite and ambitious oil painting, "A Well Trimmed Bush." It's also my largest, something like 4'x5'. I am but a poor poor art student, so If you're interested in anything send me an email. Thanks!

My first non-Hawaii group show, coming up fast in March! I'll be finished with the piece in a week or so, so I'll be sure to post a sneak peek soon enough. There are really some amazing artists in this one, and I am really excited to be involved, so if you're in the Seaside CA. area be sure to check it out.

Concept Sketch!
Idea sketch for a piece I'll be painting for an upcoming show "This is the End" in March (more details to come). I'm working on an oil painting, as well as some graphically styled screen prints. I intend for the brain sucking alien thing to be very tall and take up a good 50% of the canvas which I think will be tall and narrow. Probable title: In The End, We Will Be Heavily Sedated.

The blog
Alright, so I set up a blog.. This is a good place to see what I'm up to, or will be, anyway. As I don't have too many projects or anything (yet!) this will probably start off a bit slow.. but I promise to post new drawing and pics from time to time. In the meantime, to view my portfolio and stuff, check out tonicacat.carbonmade.com .
I apologize in advance for my horrific grammar!
